Chief Development Officer
As Chief Development Officer of Shelborne Development, Shannon oversees all acquisitions, predevelopment and development activities for the corporation. A housing expert and experienced leader, Shannon has a diverse real estate background specializing in residential real estate, rehabilitation, land acquisition, and development. With a focus on projects that promote sustainability, urban revitalization and a sense of place, Shannon's work includes developing master-planned communities, traditional developments, production homebuilding, and large scale mixed-use developments. Shannon acts as the liaison for Shelborne Development to Motor City Building Company.
Shannon worked directly with Detroit Real Estate Mogul, Bernie Glieberman, to create and establish Home Renewal Systems, LLC, concentrating on the implementation of HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program throughout Southeast Michigan and Ohio. Awarded the Distinguished Service Award for 2012 on behalf of the HBA of Southeastern Michigan. HRS was also honored in 2012 by the National Association of Realtors for the “NSP Model for the Nation.”
Through this role, she was responsible for successfully soliciting, procuring and managing of 100% of all the company’s projects. This includes federally funded projects in 18 different municipalities, as well as various other housing projects ranging from affordable housing, trust disposition, land banking, historic preservation, mixed-use and production housing developments. She also procured and implemented the company’s first LIHTC project in Fremont, Michigan, repurposing a historic high school, located on a downtown main street into senior housing. The project received numerous state and national awards including the EDSON tax credit award for best rural housing tax credit project in the country.
Shannon is actively engaged in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, legislators, local units of governments and aligned interest groups to develop and support policies and legislation affecting federal and state real estate development. Worked on and championed several different pieces of legislation that were passed both federally and at the state level.
